Move membership

Stay active, healthy, and connected with LJMU Move. Our new Move membership gives students full access for just £40 a year.

For Staff (£50), Alumni (£50) and Community (£220 pro-rota) memberships, please see the membership benefits below.

What’s included in the Move membership

For staff, students, alumni and community

  • Fitness and dance classes – Yoga, Pilates, HIIT, kettlebells.
  • Gym access – 120-station fitness suite (10-month access while refurbishment takes place, due to complete June 2026).

For students and staff

  • Swimming – Access to University of Liverpool pool (off-peak hours).

For students only

  • Water sports – Activities at Liverpool Water Sports Centre.
  • Out and about sessions – Couch to 5k, athletics, walk and talk, climbing, guided bike rides.
  • Racquet and target sports – Tennis, badminton, pickleball, archery, fencing.
  • Ball games – Volleyball, basketball, Kinball.
  • Intramural leagues – Football, basketball, netball, chess.
  • Specialist programmes – Healthy lifestyles, nutrition workshops, empowering women, coach education.

To sign up for Move membership, log in through the LJMU Move app by going into ‘membership and bookings’, then ‘memberships’, sign-up, taking you to the website. From here select ‘login’ and ‘Microsoft account’ from here just input your LJMU username and password. Now in ‘my account’ you can select ‘memberships’, ‘add a membership now’, and proceed with a student or staff annual membership payment by selecting the MOVE membership.

You can also sign up for a membership or book classes as a student without the app using your LJMU username and password.
